Salicylic Acid is an organic compound and a plant hormone. The name is from Latin 'salix' for willow tree, from which it was initially identified and derived. 

Salicylic Acid, when applied to the skin surface, works by causing the cells of the epidermis to be rid off more readily, preventing pores from clogging up, and allowing room for new cell growth. 

We use Salicylic Acid for its Antimicrobial and Anti-Irritant benefits, salicylic acid can improve skin thickness, barrier functions, and collagen production. It penetrates into the pore and exfoliates inside the pore as well as on the surface of the skin, which makes it effective for reducing blemishes, blackheads, whiteheads and reducing acne.  For oily skin its great because it removes excess oil and unclogs pores significantly.  Great product for oily skin but we do not recommend it for dry or eczema skin types.

Also known as vitamin B3 and nicotinamide, Niacinamide is a vitamin that works with the natural substances in your skin to help visibly minimize enlarged pores, tighten lax or stretched out pores, improve uneven skin tone, soften fine lines and wrinkles, diminish dullness, and strengthen a weakened surface. 

Niacinamide reduces the impact of environmental damage on your skin because of its ability to improve skin's lipid barrier (the layer of water and oil that protects your skin and the first line of defence). 

This helps lock moisture in and keep pollutants or other potential irritants out, making your skin more hydrated and less sensitive. It also plays a role in helping skin to repair signs of past damage. Left unchecked, this type of daily assault makes skin appear older, dull and less radiant. 

We add Niacinamide to achieve lightening and evening out the skin tone, boosting collagen production, keeping skin smooth and more elastic. For dry skin its great because it hydrates and moisturises the skin. Great product for dry & eczema skin types.

Grapeseed Oil is the quiet achiever in skincare, lightweight, fast-absorbing, and full of skin-loving nutrients. Non-comedogenic (won’t clog pores) – Perfect for oily, acne-prone, or sensitive skin. Tightens & tones and therefore naturally astringent, it firms skin and reduces the appearance of pores. Boosts collagen contains proanthocyanidins, known to improve elasticity and support collagen production. Moisturising without heaviness, it really hydrates deeply while still feeling light on the skin and has no greasy residue.

Bonus features are that it also Soothes inflammation which is great for calming redness, acne, and irritation. It Supports scar healing and with regular use can help fade acne scars and improve overall skin texture. This is why Rainne uses Grapeseed Oil because it Improves absorption and carry the active ingredients(niacinamide and salicylic acid)  deeper into the skin, making it a perfect base oil.
