Where did Rainne start?

Chemist and mum of two daughters, Dr Candyce Raine Clark had always used essential oil products on her skin. But these products were expensive, and none contained salicylic acid, an ingredient with pore-cleansing properties. Candyce decided to put her chemistry PhD to good use, researching how to make the perfect product for herself and her girls. She discovered that salicylic acid only dissolves in water, not oils, so she began looking at ways to (literally) solve the problem. She did, and for a while used her lab to make her own skincare solution. Since she wasn’t dissolving the salicylic acid in water but diluting it with a medium that could work well with the essential oils, there was no need to add copious preservatives. This meant she could keep her product as natural as possible.

Rainne Skincare was born a couple of years later when Candyce’s sister-in-law Denise Costa a business woman with the background and certificates in beauty and skincare, suggested others might benefit from this affordable, premium serum containing top quality cleansing and moisturising ingredients. 

Denise then decided to take the products to market.

The name Rainne with two n's was chosen because Candyce initially designed the products. The second n was added to create uniqueness of brand and for trademark protection as Raine with one n was already widely used.
